Ms Kruzan is a workplace culture specialist with over 20 years of experience in integrating culture knowledge into broad - based organizational change efforts. The focus of her current practice is to help organizations align culture with desired strategic direction. She learned from her years of experience that it is important to take the mystery out of managing culture. To do this, she supports managers and leaders in the practical, “how-to” skills and knowledge necessary to apply culture knowledge to their day-to day tasks.
Noteworthy project experience includes working with the Diversity Strategies Department within the General Motors Corporation in the development of a Common Process for Culture Change to be utilized across all units and change efforts of the company. She also served as the Executive Director and Senior Researcher of a nationally known non-profit diversity research and education institute. She earned her BA from Mt. Holyoke College, her MBA from Emory University and studied organizational culture under Dr. Edgar Schein of M.I.T. and Dr. Roosevelt Thomas. She co-authored with Dr. Hutcheson the book A Guide to Culture Audits.
Dr. Hutcheson has 35 years of experience in applied research. He received a B.A. from Davidson College, a M.A. from Emory University and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. He was a Senior Research Associate and Associate Director at the Center for Research in Social Change at Emory University, and founded the Center for Public and Urban Research at Georgia State University that he directed for fifteen years. Additionally, he worked for the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Public Health Service designing, conducting and analyzing policy, organizational and evaluation research for those agencies.
Dr. Hutcheson is author of six books, including Racial Attitudes in Atlanta, Organized Citizen Participation in Urban Areas, Citizen Groups in Local Politics, and A Guide to Culture Audits (with Terri W. Kruzan). He is author or co-author of over 35 scholarly articles, in addition to over 350 applied research reports. He is a former Professor in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. He has served as a consultant to over 200 public, private and non-profit organizations.
